Battle of the Bulge

The Battle of the Bulge, also known as the Ardennes Offensive, was the last major German offensive campaign on the Western Front during Second World War which took place from 16 December 1944 to 25 January 1945. It was launched through the densely forested Ardennes region between Belgium and Luxembourg.

This battle highlights the still noticeable scars of the 2nd World War in Belgium.

During World War II, the Belgian Army used a variety of rifles, machine guns, and artillery, relying on both older models and newer designs. Their arsenal included light and heavy machine guns, limited tanks, and artillery for defense. After the German invasion in 1940, Belgian forces increasingly depended on equipment from British and French allies. Some of the used equipment is showed in the picture below.
